Can't tell much from the picture but this is supposed to be a French built generator out of a boat. Looks like it's out of an RV to me. One cylinder, water cooled. Cheap. Could be a fun toy or a good anchor. Any of you fellas got a clue as to what make this is. Might be hard to get parts. Its about a 2 hour ride to go look at it.

Looks like it COULD be maybe a Lombardini  engine. The genny could be anything.
Could be just scrap iron :-X
Sorry but it does look to be rougher than a night in jail..........

Looks like the freeze plug above the label has let go. I guess that is a good thing.  Can get the unit for $200.00. I could jettison the gen head and maybe have a little diesel engine to play with. Decisions, decisions............................

Can anyone make out the label and identify this thing?

the so called "freeze" plugs are actually core plugs which are placed to plug off
the holes needed to get the core sand out after casting and not for freeze protection.

with a plug forced out the unit likely has been frozen, and as such is a crap shoot.

maybe 50 bucks more than scrap value if you are a gambling man, i wouldn't be surprised
to find out there is more serious damage, but you might get lucky.

I agree with Bob - who knows how long it's been in that field & therefore how many freeze/thaws its had; plus, it's probably out in the field because it broke already. Being Italian, it's probably the engine that's let go rather than the genny, but the genny will likely be scrap now because of water damage...

But: It's still worth something in scrap value, and if it does happen to defy the odds & work, then you're laughing.
Cheers!
