General Discussion / Re: Where are ya?
January 08, 2012, 03:18:50 PM
this whole are is  turning into houses and mini malls.   don't know what you would buy worth while at a mall i don't use one unless i have to.   anyway   tv highway is still the same bottle neck from one end to the other and alot of intersections have been changed so much you wouldn't know where you were.   my brother lives in central oregon and come home here once a year and gets lost from all the new construction.   lucky for me we are still on the family farm with little or no changes.

currently i have two three cylinder duetz's one is in an eighty foot manlift i am  using to top some huge trees.   the other is in my ditchwitch trencher it was built in the early 80s and is rated at 60 hp.   i like the aircooled side of it allis chambers used it for their powerplants.     i have started this manlift on many frosty mornings with no issues and it goes to gov speed right off.  can't say what kind of fuel usage i get.

great ,  thanks for the invite.  that is one area of oregon i have not spent much time in.  drove thru from crater lake to i-5 last year.   went to look at some milled juniper just south east of crater lake.    we did stay overnite in the lodge that was fun.   sorry took so long to get back been kind of hopping here lately.  doug   503-913-1901

we have alot of filbert or hazelnuts in my area and after the shells are dried and cracked out they are waste. so i bought an old pellet stove and had to block off some of the auger feed hole because it is a single feed auger sometime the shells will flow freely into the burn box. anyway i burn straight nut shells . now be warned there is alot of ash content so once a week i vacuum all the crooks and cranny's and every couple days i clean the burn pot and overflow ash. but i am home most of the time or close by and this makes life alittle thriftier.  the shells run from 50 to 90 a ton.  my stove is old so no self starting so it idles alot.  couple buddies tried it said to much work so to each his own. email if i can help
