Thanks for posting. I've been looking for devices for about 5 years now. I don't know where the manufacturers get their tech writers but all seem to be idiots.

Hello! Manufacturers! First things I want to know (and I suspect a lot of others) are

a) How do you hook it up?
b) How does it communicate?
c) Over what distances?
d) What interfaces are supported (Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, wireless, proprietary?)
e) What data formats are supported (CSV, spreadsheet - excel, calc?, plain txt)

I'll keep looking and thanks

General Discussion / Re: 5kw "inverter" gen head unit?

To answer LowGear, the following link indicates 400V DC busses

What turns me off is the apparent snake oil on their trucking page -

The unit is only 80% efficient to begin with. Add a major and heavy lead acid battery bank to the truck in addition to all kinds of electric distribution and the truck is magically more efficient than the stock setup? I'll wait for an independent lab report on this one.

BTW, the last time I checked, long haul freight trunks use about eight times more fuel on a ton-mile basis compared to rail.

Just joined, looks like a great site/group. I couldn't find much on mechanical governors so I thought I would add some links.

I'm not a big fan of electronic governors even though I've got a fairly good background in electronics. In this area I prefer simple, straight forward solutions to things if at all possible.

Thanks -
