Deeiche I think there is still space that can be had on the orginal container shipped from Blackpool. You would need to get the engine there and then when all is said and done the shipping will be divided up equally among everyone. Let me know. Mike DD

General Discussion / NEW MEMBERS IDEAS
February 13, 2011, 01:03:52 PM
I recieved a PM from LLF saying he had deleated his post over the LOVSON compressors.

I did not ask him if I could post this so I hope it is alright with him. He is new to the forum and was excited about belonging. His goal is to be self sufficent if need be. He also wanted to bring something to this forum in the way of information.

He had some ideas that he put a lot of thought and research into. He was made to feel that everything he had to share was pretty much in vain. How many of us have rersearched something new and felt it was a good idea just to have people dischourage us? I think we should encourage people to follow there dream and offer support and guidence.

I wanted to go back and read the post from other people again beside him to see if I could point out what remarks might have been negative. I see it is all gone.

I know I have had ideas that may have not followed the norm. It is people with new ideas that create advancement in this world. Getting engines into the US in form of aircompressors is not new but it is also not discussed much. I think anyway of getting something into the country even if it goes against the grain of the govt is great.

I hope LLF will continue to be part of the forum. Even the newest members have ideas that might be of some interest to others. Mike DrDeath

Mark I live in an area where numerous feed lots are around. So dry animal waste would be plentiful. It would work better than a septic system. Keep us informed how this plays out. Mike PS I also live about 60 miles from dieselgman's yard.

I know of air cooled Lister spark engines that work in the USA and Canada. There are tons of them advertised for rebuilding. I would guess their must be W/C units of the same type. I would think going in under something that is already approved then change slowly. Just my opinion. Mike

I have not had a wood fireplace for years. The last one I had needed a fair share of air going up the flu to keep the smoke out. BUT I have to say it really didn't matter that much because there was nothing more romantic than to be with your girlfriend in front of a nice fire and a hot spark jumps out landing on your girlfriends bare A**. I am here to tell you that put the fire out somewhere else. The moral is to use wood other than osage orange " hedge". LOL DD

Ade I know a fellow in the UK that is darn reasonable that hauls engines. LOL That looks pretty interesting. I see another engine covered with a barrell. I know people looking for flywheels for 6/1's if you come across any. Mike

General Discussion / Re: Why are you here?

Im here because I have been thrown out of all of the local bars  (Taverns) in Ade's world. I just love going back in time before everything became so complicated. When I get to the stone wheel I will probably be smart enough to get by. DD

Ade save it for when I come over. We can just eat it and save the process where it might turn into ash. I would guess a few mouths full of it we would get some sort of BUZZ. Now Casey you can join in. LOL DD

You know this is a good idea. We have detrmined that the waste product of using WMO is ash. Well is it in such small amounts that it takes hundreds of hours to build up enough to create a problem? Or in a healthy engine is some of it passed out of the exhaust until something changes within the engine which allow it to build up. Because there are not many engines you could throw a hand full of fine sand in and it would run 2000 hours.

If in a healthy engine what if anything could be done to send the little nasties on out of the exhaust to keep something from hapening anyway??

I noticed the compression had decreased if I remember correctly on Bill and Spences engine before complete failure.

These are some questions that merit some discussion if anyone would like to chime in. Bill or anyone with an extended run time with WMO??????? DD
