Have you been able to learn any more about this DI Metro?  Anyone know if (other than the stepped head without the traditional CS combustion chamber) the parts interchangeable with other 6/1 engines?

From what I've read the DI listeroids are usually equipped with aluminum pistons and different counterweights.  However, Metro claims their engines are DI but have a standard cast iron piston.  (http://www.metroexporters.com/pages/metex/dieselslow.html) and the flywheel counterweights look "standard" to me.

Here's why I'd like to know.

I acquired one of these from Sam for a price I couldn't resist a few years ago, but I've never started it.  At that time I planned to use it as a backup generator.  I tried several times to get an ST head, tappet jack, pulley, and CD from George but had repeated communication problems.  I set the project aside when a family member got a whole house generator and gave me their portable gas generator.  I've finally gotten around to getting the now outsourced Utterpower CD and an 8.4" pulley.  I plan to order a ST5 head next week.

With the Listeroid vendors dropping like flies as a result of the new EPA rules I'm considering stocking up on spare parts while they are available in the US.  Most likely the CME complete parts kit that costs as much as I paid for the engine itself ... if the parts fit.
