Has anyone seen one of these before? A 2 cylinder R175 renamed a wan275. B&S 75x80mm. Looks like it was made in 1992. Roughly 12hp? driving a st type 7.5 watt gen head.

I like it, parts might be hard to find. Do not think they have been in production for awhile??.You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

Thanks Veggie.. I was also thinking the shipping must be nuts all the way from china.
It is probably close to 150 pounds give or take..It is ashme shipping has gotton this expensive.. We could do so much more with these engines with easier access to parts. I think just a crankshaft and flywheel would be close to $150 usd. Thanks Keith..

Thank you for the reply Tom.. I just watched a few quick videos on pex type A.. I can now see why they are now often used.. Quick, clean and easy..  When I first saw these new fitting types become popular they were pretty expensive, so looked into it no further..  I am still a solder and torch user.. Takes to much time and is a mess to use.  But this stuff is much quicker.. Thanks again..

Did not realize pex came in clear color pipe.. So special tool needed for install and not push to fit?

Also have them in my basement and it does say pex on them lol.You cannot view this attachment.

Can one of you guys tell me what type of fittings these are?  It is just a piece of scrap I picked up.. Are they a push loc type fitting? Are they considered pex fittings.. If they are pex type I think a special tool is required. It looks like it works with 1/2'' copper pipe as well as 1/2'' plastic pipe.  Thanks for any info.

Wesepo is another place to get parts.. They carry just about everything for water and air cooled small diesel engines..  Shipping cost is on par with most all of the other suppliers.

Jesse also was wondering how that water pump you used in post #88 worked.. I think it is the 12 volt 2.1 gallon per minute pump correct? I believe I have that exact same water pump

I really would like to upgrade to a R175 or R180 mainly because of the forced oiling with a real oil pump.. I know from reading some of Henry's posts he was not a fan of his R165.. He was not impressed withe qaulity of the parts.. I think the chinese build the bigger engines with more quality in mind.. IMO, but not sure

Thanks for the info Jesse. Yes I am aware of yoycart, they have everything for these engines. The main issue I see is you must enter the weight of each part in grams to get an accurate shipping qoute. None of the parts listed in the descriptions tell the weight of the item, very strange. So you either have to have your engine apart and weigh the flywheel crank assembly or what ever other part you need. Or you have to guestimate the weight and they adjust the shipping charge when they get all the parts together.

Anyway just read this entire thread again and was truly inspired by your work on this little r165. I will post a link on a complete R175 you can buy completely disasembled and you buil it at home.. Every part on the engine the block head gears crank etc everything.
going to try to get a price on that.

Did it have an extra long front pulley on it? Like this one.

That is a great generator there.. Like the belt pulleys. Next gen builds some great gen sets.
