Ryan,

got it.

get back to you on Monday

Ryan,

your Yichang machine from Hubei Province manufacturer is no longer in existence for us to verify the part number.

is your unit direct or indirect injection?

i guess a Changfa R180 IP unit should fits (better still if you can take a few pics on the mounting and several view of your IP for my confirmation)

come back to me and we will get you a Changfa unit.

Hi Ryan,

got it. shall revert. info pass to Larry.

microcogen posting by default is not viewable in China. the local ISP block it but we manage to get around using google dns.

Gents,

i am Dave aka startomatic base in Malaysia and my partner in crime Larry aka David is base in Qingdao in China.

we can source for you gent any parts for Chinese engine.

the deal breaker is usually the courier cost for heavy items like cylinder head. otherwise, we can be very competitive and David would source this part usually from the original maker rather than the engine maker.

the IP Quinn received is from one of the biggest IP pump manufacturer in China, Wuxi Diesel. getting replacement part from direct engine maker sometime is a hit and run case when come to quality as their sourcing dept may buy purely base on pricing.

Ryan,
could you give us the make and where possible the part number for the IP you need. my suggestion is you shd keep some stock of head gasket, fuel nozzle, rings set and the main plain/CR bearing. David and I would be more than happy to give you a quote.

kind regards

has anyone else ordered or emailed these guys yet? I've emailed them this past Friday. How quick should I expect a response? Maybe I'm just impatient.

Hi Ryan,

together with my partner David in China, i had recently supply a qty of LaiDong engine to John F and the IP to Quinn.

if you need any parts, pls let us know. we will endeavor our best to deliver you the right parts in the most convenience way.

btw, the whole of China will shut down for a week for their May golden week holiday from end April to beginning May. if you need anything urgent, pls let us know.

thks.

this is one SL3 old gal i found in a warehouse recently.

this was her first run after top overhaul.

during this test run, she was just sitting on the temp trolley unbolted and unrestrained in anyway. smooth and well behave.

hope you guy enjoy her sweet voice at 1200rpm.

Terry, it sound like my problems too. i was driving a rather heavy pressure jet with a load/unload valve.

when it was loaded, it was not able to increase fuel flow ans soon the engine die and when it was unloading, the rpm shot thru the roof as you said.

it was cured by adjusting the spring position in the governor linkage and the bottom stop bar which is also spring loaded and has a mark effect of speed governing.

let me send you the pic of the spring position this weekend.

you should check the fuel filter too. this is inside the diesel tank. my experience is when water find its way to the fuel, the filter somehow will get block to allow sufficient diesel to reach the fuel pump.

the timing on the flywheel is fixed. you cant do anything with it.

i will open up my throttle linkage this weekend and take a picture for your reference. just hang on there.

if i could offer some help, these are 2 pic of the throttle in relation to the spring hole setting and the below stop adjuster. these are critical position which i finally got it right after many hours trial. the engine runs at about 1500~1800rpm and governing the load properly now.

hope this help

Jim,

great to hear that...

this is my unit almost ready to drive a high pressure pump unit.

#14
hi Jim. you must move the governor or throttle linkage (which is connected to the internal fork) to be inserted by the fuel plunger.

best way is to instal the fuel pump and crank the engine at min throttle and max throttle with the high pressure loosen.

in this way, you can determine if you had it correctly installed or not.

if you still have problem,  i could remove mine and take a few pics for you.

Jim, put the rack in the middle and line up the governor slot (inside the engine) in the middle too to align it.

the governor level has many combination of holes to springs position for certain speed range. you need to play with it to get the best governing for the speed range you want.
