I added some B100 biodiesel into the diesel, so now it's soaking in about B50. May take it out tonight to check it out.

I figure i'd try getting one form dave & larry in China, just want to try to get it apart 1st.

I wonder how much the injector pump will be including shipping from China.

Maybe stupid question, but who is "Dave & Larry" ..?
If they are living in China, then I would love to meet up for future reqirements of my own.

Good news.. Taking your advice I started to remove the flywheel. To do this requires that first I remove the belt pulley and low and behold what do I find? the answer to the problem. I fitted a cush drive pulley in the hope of having a softer snatch when a load comes on line. Inside the pulley combination is a spider of three chunks of rubber. Simular to that in a Lovejoy . One of the rubber segments had been chomped to peices so the effect was the pulley drove on the two remaining and shook on the third. Refiited the standard drive pulley and found peace in our time. No vibes, just a nice chugga-chugga-chugga.
Thanks for all your input, its a very nice feeling to know one is not alone whenever problems crop up.

Those of you in the know may laugh as you read this but I dont know how to explain the problem.
My engine has a vibration that is cyclitic, that is it goes up and down. Its not ignition related, more of a rotation issue.
What happens is the engine will vibrate from nothing to severe and back again, following the same axis as the engine ie from cyclinder head to starter motor. no vibes from side to side
think of some one turning the volume up and down over and over again, the volume =vibration
No matter what the revs are fast or slow it is present right through the range, revs fast= vibs fast ect
What I have tried.
All bolts tight and bed secure and square.
running engine alone with genny belts off.
Counter weight timing gear, one tooth advance/ one tooth retard/ and correct setting.
From what I can see of the c/w bearings, they look and rotate without a gritty feel to them.
Question is: where do I look next?

What are you lot like when you all respond.... ha ha ha  I am still smiling from reading the SLOBER.. sorry replies...
Anyway good news. put new valve in (not sure if the old contributed to the smoke) and ran it up without the rad fan to almost boiling point. Loading is a bigger issue.. these engines have got sooooooooooooo much power in reserve its hard to load it. whatever I throw at it, it just sits there chug-chug-chug. not even the slightest hint of a fart. Up till now no smoke or slober so we are on the right track. Heat and Load combined is the answer.
Also fitted a inline stat to keep temp up so now its fingers crossed.
Tks again for all your help

Hello bob

You do not say if you are experiencing engine oil consumption?

With only 60 hours run time I would agree that the rings may not yet have seated.

Is the engine loaded properly or is it way under loaded for it's size.

Perhaps it is not up to operating temp............

Warning I have 0 experience with the 1115...............

Billswan

Hi Bill, yes on two counts, it is under loaded for the size of the head and plus it does not get very hot really.
I removed the ex valve and found a long scratch down the shaft so I fitted the one from the spare box. I will replace the cylinder head tom and try again. I will also look for some kind of a load to drop on it. see if that helps. They sure get the head bolts tight.. took me and a 2ft tube to break the grip.

I happen to notice spots of lub oil on the floor right under the exhaust port where it bolts to the cylinder head. Not knowing where it came from I just cleaned it up and started the engine again. then later in the day I saw it was dripping from the port itself and my wife said much smoke is coming from the muffler. I cant see it from inside the engine room. So off the engine and thought why? How? Aha maybe from a worn valve guide.. but this engine (1115) has less than 60 hrs run time.. Anyway removed the head and its dry as a bone as it should be. The valve guide has minimum play so doubt if oil is running through to make the smoke or drips. oil drain is huge so no chance of a blockage. The next thing in mind is a oil control ring but that means removal of rod and piston = down time for more time than I need right now. (Digging a deep well) Besides I do not think the rings would even be beded in yet.
Has anyone had this problem in the past... any info to the cause would be helpfull. (he says praying)...
tks Bobbie
ps this occures hot or cold engine and the fuel is Diesel

Just two questions....is the price still 4.50 plus shipping? and the cost to ship to the U.S.A.    .....

                                                           THANK YOU {WRIGHTKILLER}

P.S.  can we get a volume discount?

YES and YES but NO to the third... you get for the same price as I am paying.
just as a matter of interest, I now have 50 of each unit.
The price in our local currency is 200 Peso which roughly equates to 4.50$ in the US. Each posting has a tracking # so you can check its where abouts. It also tells me when it has been delivered and signed for.
Later today I will upload pics of the energy saving lights that fit E27 fittings common in the US (lights that screw in) also 12 volts.

Good day to our members,
Can I place a reminder here for those who have ordered any of the ballasts.
I do not have any problem sending the items before payment is made, but it may be a matter of courtesy if, once you are in receipt of your order to either PM or email me to confirm the fact.
It would also help those coming behind you to make your payment soon after.
What your not being charged for is my time running around getting it boxed ready for shipping.
Thanks. Bobbie

Good news folks. Firefly has now sent me 50x 20 watt and 50x 40 watt ballasts.
All have been tested and are ready for posting.
I have an agreement with Firefly to deal with me direct so any problems are sorted fast.
They also supply 12 volt energy saving lights which fit the US standard screw fitting and also Halagen lights which fit the standard flood light (waiting for the price) Will include photos later today.

Please be mindful that I am not adding anything to the cost, what ever I pay is what I charge you.
Hope this is helpfull to anyone using 12 volt back-up or solar.
