thanks for the info.
I've ran this pump on wvo for about 2000 hours with out any diesel at all .
its always been ran at least every 3 days or so until I got hooked to the grid. total run time on that 6/1 has been app 8000 hrs with only a replacement of a timing gear. all on wvo.
a month ago I got hooked to the grid and haven't ran it sence, so my neighbours son in law came up from texas and wanted to see it run.
the rack was stuck.
I took it off and its soaking in parts cleaner now. I just forgot what I used to clean it with .
I got some acitone, that must of been what I used because parts cleaner aint working very good.
usally only needed to clean every 5 or 6 months as the rack gets really sticky burning wvo.
any way thanks., and George if you are wondering, and read this, I know I owe you pictures and such they will be coming as soon as get things cleaned up and camera ready.
oh and my first power bill =$44. dollars ,,, I can live with that.

some one said what was a good solvent to clean wvo glue out of your injector pump was , but I forgot.
funny how so many projects ,,or old age, makes you forget.
any way , could some one remind me?

i got it out and tested it.
cleaned it and put it back.[the injecter]
tried to start it, wore me out.
so got the Wheel Horse out and a long belt.
spun it up and had a lot of smoke and finally it ran on its own.,
but a hole lot of smoke and it ran away except the belt was still attached so i just shut off the wheel horse.
i put it away and will get back to it later. or sell for parts. i'm tired messing with it.
i think it has a ring that is broke.
it had only 3 or so tanks of fuel ran through it.
it didn't like bio fuel.

General Discussion / best deal on generators
September 09, 2011, 09:14:18 AM
my neighbor, well he has a cabin across the road from me. he lives in the houstin texas area. the cabin and my place is in southern missouri.
he's been using a gas generator ,7500w and it's on its last leg.
he asked for some help in finding a better, quieter generator to power his cabin that would last longer and be more fuel effceient.
i basically told him i didnt like to haul gas and and gas storage was out because shelf life of gas wasn't good.
also gas gen set's dont last.as he is finding out.
so i told him that i'd be looking for a 1800rpm diesel.,a little smaller in watts than he has in gas type.
ok heres what he needs to run.,

230volt wellpump only to fill his storage tank.
television
small 110v waterheater
small refrigerator
lights.
toaster
coffee pot

i suggested to change out the water heater with propane but that would be a pain because of running the flue.
the smallest water cooled 1800rpm diesel gen set i could find is 7000watt.
i figured he'd be needing something in the range of 5 to 6000watt. or maybe the 7000watt would be good as i forgot the toaster and coffee pot

what do you guys think?

i found a hardy diesel water cooled generator, kubota powered 7kw model hdaekb-7ec, for $6,695
i dont know what shipping would be to the houston area would be.
he will probably want it shipped to his home area and bring it to the cabin. when he returns for hunting.

oh and i might add that i suggested some solar and batteries, charge controller, inverter. to be used in the winter when it's just him and some buddies hunting. load would be the fridge, lights, maybe the television, oh and that stupid electric water heater. that is always going to be a problem aint it.

what input do you'all have and what is a good deal., for a water cooled 1800rpm diesel genset?
am i sizing it pretty close as i know diesels like to be loaded.

thanks getterdone

i bought a new bosch 1600 ps Lp hot water heater. i haven't hooked my solar water heater to it yet.
it is supposted to hook to solar an work.
one thing i have noticed is that i have very little hot water pressure.
i haven't used it much. it's hooked to a bathroom that we haven't used yet.
what problems are you guys having? i'd like to have a heads up.
i'm not sure i need to check it out further.,but maby i'm not supplying enough gas pressure. thats the cause of low water flow.

to day i hooked up the sterling regulator.
started the listor ,switched the thing on and.......ha it worked just fine.
steve thanks for the help you have given me, i owe you one.
before i retired i worked with some smart electricians., my self as hvacr we took care of the cat plant in the mid west. when i needed system wired., or programed i had an electrician do it. that was their part of the job. i sure miss them.
i will report in a few days on how it's working.

diesel, are you saying to put the capacitor at the washer and drier. i could make up a pannel to hold the capacitor's and plug directly to the pannel.
if so what size should i use? 5,10,35,50,.......microfarit
this morning my wife couldnt get the washer to work . i had her turn the a/c and then it worked fine. go figure.

does mobile bob use 12v or 24v. i could send him one of these, if 24v is what he needs. i think it could ups for $25 or so. i don't know what they weigh. i think ups will ship 60#
what do you think?
thanks again steve.
oh and i see you are big in woodgasifiers
that will be my next project.
i'm in the reading stage right now.
i'll start gathering parts.
