A little more

"The generator:
The specially-developed water-cooled
asynchronous generator is firmly
bolted to the engine, which drives
the generator via a single-stage gear.
The nominal active power of 5.5 kW is
achieved with up to 91% efficiency."

Hi Bob,

Also to note is that this is 230v /50 Hz.  And as far as I know there not planning to make a 60hz
Version for north America.

I was shocked when I found out the rpm's of these units. There is a document from baxi which
Was showing the first installed units now up to 105,000 hours.
Yep, over 100 thousand hours.
Life expectancy is 80,000 hours though.

I wonder what type of coating and alloys there using on these units.

Cliff,

Well at a cost of 28000 Euro she saved 2000 in the first year. I bet it needs a rebuild before it has payed for itself............
