RCAvic...when I happened upon this site...the first thing popped into my head...does he know about this site.
The second thing was, how do we port what these guys are doing to our applications, they are just making downright beautiful DIY Boards.
It seems to me that silicon offers a lot to our little co-gens...
I see schematics of controllers and various needs for our systems..that if we could execute like the DIY'rs on this site...could be very advantages.

Lloyd,
No I didn't know about that site. Thanx for the link. I hang out sometimes at another place called DIYaudio.com .
There is quite a lot of building tube amplifiers into an art form nowadays since part of the fun is to enjoy the warm friendly glow of the vacuum tubes. No longer are they to be hidden under a metal cover or cage. The artist in me has really blossomed in this genre too.
Here is one I'm proud of. 20 coats of hand rubbed black and clear laquer on hard maple case with copper lining. That control stage is totally and uniquely my own. Never seen anything like it on an amp anywhere else ever!
Check out the DIY turntable stand I made. My own unique artistic design of course! The bottom is three layers of 3/4" sculpted MDF. The solid 1" thick steel discs add ballast on the bottom and the whole thing sits on 3 stainless steel pins that puncture the carpet and rest on the solid hardwood floor so that this thing is S T A B L E. Knurled fine thread adjusters on each foot spike.
RCA:
damn you do nice work!
puuuurrrrrdy!

Thank You!
My inferiority complex is now complete.
Ron
WOW...
RCA...Nice Art.
Lloyd
they say that "form follows function" and i say that is bullshit! or a copout!
there is no reason that a beautiful "form" can not be followed by exquisite function.
it works that way in nature doesn't it?
an ugly mean woman can have a kid, just a a gorgeous nice woman can!
not that i need any more kids at this late stage, and i am not in the market for an woman
but if i were,, well... you damn well better bet that any rosey odonell types need not apply.
it looks like RCA builds stuff on the caliber of a "super model", which i guess it comes down to another old addage
"if the job is worth doing, it is worth doing right"
and like Ron, my inferiority complex is also now complete!
:)

I'm not even in the right league to be humbled. Beautiful work, RCA.
Thank you all for your kind compliments on my handiwork. DIY audio stuff has been an area where not only the engineer in me but the artist as well has had a chance to blossom. I'll put up some pics of the unique speakers I made of my own design of which I'm so proud if I can find the file.
