Jedon I think those are elevator power supplies. Elevators use AC Motor/DC generator units to provide the heavy DC supply for the traction motors.
those don't look like any elevator motor/generators that i've seen before, most are an "inline" configuration. not saying they aren't, just not like i've seen. here's the louis allis companies web site, http://www.louisallis.com/index.html they seem to be more of a military supplier though they do market to the industrial market too. neat stuff for sale in their "for sale" pages, motor rewinding equiptment (mobile bob) motor test equiptment ect.
