Hello Veggie.,

I have a question. I am looking at the gearcase cover on your S195.

Is the gearcase cover made out of cast iron or cast aluminum?

All cases on this engine are cast iron

My S195 gearcase covers are cast aluminum.

What caught my attention was I noticed that the casting on the cover looked like the casting on the block. The gear case covers on both of my S195 engines are smooth.
I put a magnet on the case and it is an aluminum alloy for sure.

my changfas are iron, i assume the flying fish i have will be like your Henry and be aluminum as well.

it really doesn't bother me one way or the other

I am not worried at all. There is no stress on it.
