Title: MIT alternator efficiency white paper
Post by: mobile_bob on September 26, 2009, 04:27:18 AM
a bit heavier reading than the delco paper, but there is much detail and clues to increased operating
efficiency of a car/truck alternator

http://lees-web.mit.edu/lees/dperreault/JournalPapers/JPtecmar05p25.pdf

this paper is referred to by researchers all over the planet, and is cited almost everywhere
improving alternator efficiency is written about and also in articles written about the new 42 volt standard
for automotive use.

as it relates to my testing which can be seen here

42 is the charging voltage of a 36 volt system from what i understand
but i might be wrong,, i really didn't dig into that detail at all because it wasn't what i was interested
in while doing the research.
