Title: Carolina's Ice
Post by: keith71 on January 21, 2022, 04:40:39 PM
Hope everybody who lives in the Carolina's are doing okay. And have their generators ready. That storm that is hitting you now was supposed to come to the northeast but looks like it is going out to sea before then. Stay safe and warm.

Were fine, thanks Keith. It too early to know what will happen. The weather forecast has been wrong before.

I posted on another topic earlier that we lost power last night around 11:30pm. The Yamaha 1000 watt inverter generator was all we needed. If we lost power in the summer, the Kubota EB300 powered generator would of been used to operate the AC.

We have about 3 inches on the ground and it's still snowing. If I need to get out I'll put the chains on.
I always have them in the truck.

The secret to get around in the Raleigh area is have good traction devices and take the back roads with hills. Pretty much everyone will take major roads and highways and stay off the hilly roads. In turn, most major roads and highways will be gridlocked with cars and trucks off the road or stuck. Yes, take the roads that everyone is afraid to take. It works every time.

Update:
In the Raleigh area the roads are mostly clear from snow. The only concern is freezing water on the roads and bridges during the night.
