Title: An Introduction...
Post by: Crumpite on November 13, 2009, 05:39:37 PM
Folks,
I just though I'd let you know who your latest member is.

I'm 57 and live with my wife on a small farm near Crump, Michigan.
I started out working as an Engineering Technician, and later became a Journeyman Instrument tech.
I worked in chemical plants and laboratorys doing design, modification and repair of just about everything from thermometers to small nuclear reactors.
I then got into control systems design and programming.
I loved my work !

Then I got disabled due to an untreatable form of gout.
I was lucky enough to have my dream shop/lab setup before it struck, so I've got things to do to keep me busy when I can move.  :)

It sounds like this is an interesting a varied group of folks who actually do things, rather than just talk about them.
Pretty rare !

Take care all,
Daryl the Gimp

Welcome Crumpite, it sounds like you will be a great asset to the group with those "credentials"
I'd love to have your thoughts/suggestions on a Data/Controller Project I'm busy with once you've got time after reading all the wonderful info on this forum!  ;)

welcome, and good to have you introduce yourself
seems lots of folks join and then just lurk, so we don't get to learn from them.

as for health issue's many of us have all sorts of maladies it seems to go with the territory
of getting older and having been road hard and put away wet.

i do more talking lately than doing, due to a variety of spinal issues
if it weren't for this place i am not sure i would be handling life as well as i do, easy to get
depressed when you can no longer do what you really are passionate about.

hopefully in my case the dr's can sort me out enough to get me back to a reasonable level of
activity.

anyway it looks like your expertise will fit in well around here, and yes this is a very varied forum
by design, attracting a wide variety of folks and all sorts of interests that we are trying to fit together
in a way that is beneficial to everyone.

here is hoping your health allows you more days than not doing what you want to do.

Wow, if you're only an hour away from Saginaw, you must fly !  :)
I'm directly east of Linwood, between Bay City and Pinconning.

Do you have any projects going ?
I'm working on a 6/1 listeroid WVO/WMO CHP system.

Take care,
Daryl

Welcome crumpite,

Looking forward to sharing info on WVO and WMO systems.
Don't forget to share you fuel ideas in the "Alternate Fuels" Section.

Cheers,
