Title: Hypon engines?
Post by: BioHazard on February 19, 2012, 09:55:04 PM
I came across this engine model number LD1115 by the "Hypon" company in china. I asked if they were importable to the US and they said YES and asked how many I wanted. Has anybody ever heard of this "Hypon Power" company or the LD1115 engine?

I just did a quick google on LD1115 and i stopped looking after I found 8 different companies selling the LD1115, in quantities from 10 on up.
The trick is not if they sell to the USA, the trick is getting them past customs.
Almost any company in China will sell damn near anything, but you have no guarantee of getting the item into the good "ol US of A.
I would get left holding the bag for sure, with my luck.
Now if one happened to live  in Canada....

Hmmm....that is a good point. Several months ago some MFG told me they didn't need an EPA certificate to import a "sample" engine. Anybody know anything about this? Let's say I had the bucks to get an engine through the EPA approval process. How do I get them into the US for the EPA to test?

I need to make an acquaintance in Canada. I swear it's easier to buy marijuana than diesel engines.... ::)

I'm sure they would be happy to print up labels saying they passed EPA testing........ ::)

Maybe that's all it takes to get through customs!  ;D

For a while, i think that was the case, at least when the EPA first started enforcement.  EPA puts a hurdle in place, Chinese print a certificate of compliance.  That worked for a little while I think, till the next tier rolled around...
