Title: Indian crank pin
Post by: Bottleveg on January 05, 2011, 02:11:16 PM
Any idea of the crank pin (big end) size on the Indian Listeroids, or do they vary?
Lister give the size of 2.4975" – 2.4980" for their Dursley CS.

The Indians faithfully copied most of the original Lister specs including the rod. Reason being, or so I am told, is that the original reason for the industry was to produce parts to repair Brittish built engines. As the originals wore out and dissapeared complete Indian engines replaced them, an indusry born out of need.

I'm just wondering if they rounded it off to 2.500"

Probable the spec for the rod bearing is 2.500" to give the proper clearance......
