Title: Survey: Hours on your engine
Post by: Jens on October 05, 2009, 06:23:34 PM
I am curious about real life expectancy of engines.
If you have an hour meter on your engine (in other words no guessing), it would be really interesting to hear what kind of engine you have and the hours you have on it. If you have more than 10000 hours on your engine then it would be interesting to hear if you have done anything but regular maintenance and what your thoughts are for expected engine life.

To start things off, I have a 20/2 Listeroid from Anand and I have 320 hours on it.

1075 hours since i put the hourmeter on bunch more before that.

Otherguy has no hour meter but runs 8 to 14 hours a day 7 days a week - this engine was totally rebuilt august of 08. Changed a coupla injectors, pumps and I think three de-carbon jobs  do the math on the minimums - aug 31 08 to oct 6 09 8 hours a day. but it's a bunch of hours
