They stock a lot of Metro Listeroid parts, I have bought a number of parts from them over the years for my 2 Metro 6/1s. Always prompt and courteous.

That site does not provide accurate information. One needs to check with the state/provincial regulations to determine what concentrations of "oxygenates"  - and there are more than just ethanol that are allowed - may be actually mandated to be in the fuel you are purchasing. And in many places, such as Ontario, Canada, where labelling is no longer required, but up to 10% of the fuel may contain ethanol. Don't rely on the pump sticker, the station owner, or the truck driver - or some website with questionable sources.

No one should be seeing more than a small drop in mileage using a fuel with 10% ethanol. If you do, something else is up. In a modern engine, you get roughly 2/3 the mileage of a gallon of raw ethanol vs. gasoline. So out of the total gallon you just bought, in that 10% that is ethanol, you would get 2/3 of your regular mileage - so if you were getting 10 mpg on "pure" gasoline, you'd get 9.66mpg on the oxygenated fuel. But the tradeoff may not be even that low - since the ethanol raises the octane number of the entire gallon of gasoline, you engine's ECU may change some operating parameters and you may get the same or better mileage... so it's not just a simple % comparison. And just because the fuel has a higher octane number doesn't means it's "better", or will give your engine more power - unless it's a higher compression, turbo- or super-charged engine that requires premium.

All bets are off at higher percentages of ethanol, unless your engine has been optimized to use it, or if the fuel is "stale" - old gasoline containing an alcohol woll pull moisture from the air. Heat/cool cycles in the tank hasten the process. Wet gas is bad gas...

As far as additives - anti-corrosion, dispersant, detergent, etc. - in consumer fuels - don't get oversold. Almost all gasoline contains exactly the same additives. Oh, sure, they may change the formulations a % here or a chemical there - but they're essentailly equal to each other - and compatible with each other.

Isn't that site merely stating that this is a list of stations carrying ethanol free gas?

the "show all unread posts since last visit" does indeed show up. And when that is clicked it does indeed bring up a list of topics, all unread since my last visit, say for example, 15 mins ago. And there is a "show all unread topics" button there.

BUT  :)

(and I see my first post is quite misleading)

My problem is when the "show all unread topics" button is clicked then I get a message "no messages"  I uploaded the screenshot below

bob,
I did have this right at the start, but i didn't notice it much until the amount of unread topics exceeded the number I could manually comb through in one visit.

I'm able to go look for new topics, no problem, but I do miss quite a bit that way

There used to be one in here somewhere, maybe I just can't find it? Right now I have to manually go through all the boards in order to see what's been updated. There is a "show all unread since last visit" button but that doesn't work if I only look at one or two topics and then come back later

I saw that mobile bob had posted about that two days ago but I can't find that post anywhere

I use Ubuntu on a daily basis, I've found WINE works quite well for the windows applications that I haven't been able to completely ditch, I switched over completely to ubuntu/linux in January of this year. I like it!! My PC runs like lightning, no stinkin' virus problems, (or the related AV resource hogging) no more windows bloatware..........I've found the freely available software under linux tends to be more powerful and more flexible, at the cost of being slightly more technical..........

Any PCB needs, (and I don't have a lot of that) are more than adequately met with kicad, once I got over the learning curve......

Interesting article, thanks for the link

I like it here, it's really nice to be able to access the knowledge, info, and just generally real life practical solutions to things  :)

One minor technical issue - when clicking on the "show all unread posts" the software gets confused and says "you have no unread messages"  ???

Oh man! That's really gotta suck. I offer my sincere condolences, do we need to send in the St. Bernard with the little keg of Brandy?
If you weren't  600 miles away, I would come give you a ride home.
Ron

Thanks for the condolences  ;D At the moment I'm snug and warm........and about ten miles away from where I want to be. Might need the brandy and saint bernard later when I try to get home  :P  :)

I'm amazed at the size of that storm, it's coming in and sitting there spinning and churning out snow by the bucketfuls, lancaster is just a little bit to the west of the storm center (right now anyway)

So far we've got well over 12 inches of nonglobal warming  ::) :)  since this morning, and still coming down like something unleashed........

Subject line says it all  >:(

Should've never gone to work this morning.......but hey, I've always wondered what it would be like to put in 24 hours in one day  ;D

Just take a gander at this radar, I'm in southeast PA, in Lancaster County

http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/northeast_loop.php

from the looks of it we got a big one this time. Anyone else in the northeast US?
