Title: Lister arrived - LR1
Post by: veggie on December 05, 2011, 09:49:24 PM

After a long search I finally found a Lister LR1 in the UK.  ;D
Arrived a couple days ago after a long boat ride.
Nice to finally get a real Lister. This one is 44 years old.
Seems to be in excellent condition.
Looking forward to mounting it to a small alternator.

Did you have to pay import duty taxes because it looks like a new engine?  Nice score!

*** UPDATE ***

FIRST SMOKE (again)

Got the little LR1 running today after a long dormancy and a trip from the UK to North America.
Thanks to TimSR2 for the pointers on bleeding the fuel system. ;)

Runs like a champ !

Nice! I have an SL1 that looks a lot like that other than it is anti-clockwise.
