Good luck I have been keeping a eye out for one for about eighteen months. I missed one on ebay about a year ago  and it was only about 30 miles away. Damn the luck!

I have 24ea 12v  100ah agm batteries and I want the best way to set them up ie one big bank of 48 v or split them into multiple banks?
And any pros and cons of either. Thanks for any info

Need a little help, I bought a used xantrex true charge 40 charge controller ,but it has no temp sensor.
I can't seem to find one on line, they are discontinued . They do have them in stock for a true charge 2 it is the latest model .
They doth seem to have a phone jack kind of connection. Any one have any idea  if they are interchangeable? Or any line on a the older type sensor. Thanks

Ok, here's the deal . I found 24 ea sonnenschein 12v 100ah for sale $40.00 ea seller says he bought 2 years ago from someone who was using them in a electric bus and they wer 2 years old when he bought them. His solar project did not happen they have been in his garage not being used but he says he has kept them topped off. He says he was told they have 75% of there life left ?I thought I would buy a batterie analyzer to check them out but looking at them on line you have to enter amp hrs on tester. Can these types of tester tell me what I need to know? I need to act fast so give me some advice if you can. Thanks

Tell me more about the off set idler . I have a 98 model 195 I recently purchased and it is very noisie but so far runs great, but is hard to start on strait veggie and I have not been able to find a parts source. I am thinking about building a box made of walkin cooler panels to install it into for noise reduction.
As for the listeroid I have the dec 8/1 and the ashwamegh 25/2 . These are all to run my off grid homestead that I am working on. The 25/2 is still in the creat so I can't speak about it yet although I have high hopes for it,but I have been running the 8/1 for about a year now. It has no hr meter on it but has ran summer and winter about 30 hr a week. So far it starts first try every try and runs like a clock. It could move a little less but I think that is due to installing it on 3" steel rails and not straight to the concrete block. The power it produces is good but not enough to start my compressor but I think that is due to the st being wired for 220 and not all detacated to 110. All in all I think the 8/1 is perfect for the job of charging batteries, low rpms low fuel consumption low noise and so far very reliable. The 195 so far is much better at running loads but very noise stock, no parts other than what came with it and dose not want to start on veggie and  I can't seem to start it by hand thank goodness it has a starter. Hopefully the 25/2 will be as good as the 8/1 but generate enough power to meet all my needs, staytone for how it goes .

Very cool, I don't know about kw when it comes to heat I have only used btu as a rating. I have been trained and have made my living as an hvacr tec .we would rate the amount of btu in a particular fuel and multiply  by the amount of fuel being used. Ie 1040 btu in natural gas or 2500 btu  in propane per cubic foot. That is a neat burner setup but with combustion going on inside the tank I don't think it would last very long without forming cracks. That is why all comercial  burners that I know about dont have combustion in the burner, and use an igniter at the outlet of the. Burner and then insulate the steel  or deflect  flame with a flame spreader.
I use a wood fired hot water boiler for my home heat and your desine might work if placed inside the fire box and insulate the box where the flame may hit the side of the box., and no problem with co but sooner or later the tank will crack and you will be shooting flame where not intended.
This dose give me some ideas. I have been using  wvo in my car and listeroid. I don't want to try WMO in my engines due to ash problems
I have found someone selling a dieselcraft centrifuge and has 500gal WMO I did not want the oil no use for it but I was not thinking about a waste oil burner.

Thanks for all the ideas. I did see that SAMs club had some 200ah  6v golf cart batteries for about $80. ea .any advice on the best batteries for the buck?
The answer about 220vac loads, yes I will need some air conditioning  in July and aug . I have radiant tubing in the walls and I was going to chill the water and see if I can keep cool with that but we also have high humidity so I think some AC will be needed.
Also I have two close driers one LP and one electric I figure I can use the electric when running generator
I have the outback 500 with 2ea 3648 inverters with mate they charge batteries when AC is applied  should I need a separate alt/charger?
