I got a Honeywell 2KW inverter genset from Home Depot when they had a big sale - $300   I guess they go on sale there every couple of months.

It's got a little EPA certified gasoline 4 stroke, 2500-5000 RPM (load dependent) but more fussy to start then the honda versions, of which this is a clone. But the price was right

I look at the Honda and Yamaha units for sale on Craigslist, and other brands from China...seems like they change names on the older "Silent Diesel 6.5 Kw" units about as often as I change my sox??
But about the inverter units; I'm curious, but chicken. I don't know enough about them to think I could fix or adjust one.
The EPA expected lifespan of 125 hours was dissapointing.  :P
